WATCH: Iranian cleric has uploaded a video of himself calling for the execution of an Iranian activist who fled to the United States and is working to raise awareness of the brutal repression of women under Islamic Sharia laws in Iran.
Masih Alinejad herself shared the video and wrote the following:
"Another cleric in Iran sends me death threats.
Recently, I had challenged Islamic Republic of Iran's ban on women's cycling. They say "it provokes men"
Historically, their own saints like Zeinab & Zahra had ridden camels. Why isn't that provocative?
These clerics are insecure"
Iran is among the worst women's rights violators in the world. Women in Iran have no freedom, no human rights and autonomy over their bodies.
The terrorist regime imprisons and even executes women over "moral crimes" such as removing the veil or dancing and singing in public.
According to estimates nearly 30% of Iranian murder cases are ‘Honor Killings’.
According to Islamic tradition, the "honor" of the entire family is measured by women's behavior. Any action that may be perceived as harming the family's honor may cost the woman her life. In other words, a woman is required not only to obey Islam including its strict codes of modesty but also to completely obey her male guardians (husband, father, brother and even uncle).
