A day after Iranian human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh has been sentenced to a total of 38 years in prison and 148 lashes The UN Women's rights committee elected Iran to serve as judge of global women's rights complaints. Iran has the worst human rights record in the world. Iran executes more people per year than China and Saudi Arabia.
Women are stoned to death for false charges of adultery. Gays and rape victims are regularly executed.
It is unbelievable that the UN has chosen to honor the Islamic Republic of Iran at the UN's Women's rights committee, the same Iran that hangs gays and rape victims in public squares on a daily basis.
The UN has lost its legitimacy.
Western countries must cut all their foreign aid to the UN.
