Three ISIS supporters aged 20, 23 and 30, arrested in Sydney expected to be charged over alleged terror plot.
Two Sydney-based Islamic State members had reached out to contacts overseas to obtain weapons and explosives as part of a plot to carry out attacks on city churches, courts, police stations and defence locations, police allege.
The terrorist arrested yesterday in Sydney was part of a taxpayer funded deradicalisation program. As you can see the program was not very successful.
A total of six raids were carried out across the western Sydney suburbs of Greenacre, Toongabbie, Chester Hill, Ingleburn, Green Valley and Canada Bay by the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Taskforce (JCTT).
"There is no immediate threat to the safety of the community as a result of this activity," a NSW Police spokeswoman said.
