Pence, a Republican from Indiana, reminded his audience that Israel and the United States were not merely allies, but in fact, “mishpocha,” using the Yiddish word for “family.”
Pence, a conservative Christian, took direct aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., one of the first two Muslim women in Congress. The Somalian American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota has been condemned for shocking anti-Semitic statements in which she complains about the right of Jews to have an independent sovereign state, laughs and jokes while talking about Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah and Pushes Old Fashion Jewish Conspiracy (Dominating the world with their money and sorcery hypnotic powers).
Referring to Omar’s 'anti-Semitic' tropes, Pence said there was “no place for anti-Semitism in the Congress of the United States.
